The hike to Bermejo Waterfall meanders along a jungle path to a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole. There is a lot to see and learn along the way with our naturalist guides at hand to point out local flaura and fauna including edible and medicinal plants. If you are interested the tour can incorporate a stop at a historical pre-columbian petroglyph site located in a cave on the river bank. We rate this trail difficulty 3 out of five with some areas being a 4.

HORSEBACK RIDING PACKAGE DEAL

PACKAGE DEAL: $45 PER GROUP WHEN YOU BOOK A HORSEBACK RIDING TOUR.

This is a great combo tour as you get to experience Santa Fe on horseback as well as hike to the Bermejo waterfall. The horseback tour takes you to the trail head of the falls, there we hitch the horses and continue on foot to the waterfall. Here you can swim, enjoy nature and take in the beauty of the clear water. The hike is about 35mins walking and takes you through jungle, orange tree groves and small streams. Our interpretative guides will be on hand to point out plants, animals and birds of interest.

LA ISLETA WATERFALL & JUNGLE HIKE

8am - 5pm Includes local lunch, drinks and trail snacks

An extreme jungle adventure, really off the beaten path into the remote depths of the Santa Fe National Park. This full day will take you into another world of nature in abundance.We take a 4x4 along gravel country roads, until we reach a narrow, jungle trail into the park. Here the remoteness and the views are spectacular, passing small indigenous huts and tiny farms. Just over mid way we begin walking up the river bed for approximately and hour before coming upon a spectacular waterfall and natural blue lagoon. We rate this trail difficulity 5 out of 5 and a good level of fitness is required.

NIGHT HIKE

8.30 pm - 11.00 pm Includes transport, head light

This tour takes you into the National Park of Santa Fe under the cover of night. Here you won't be distracted by the lights of civilization and will be able, with luck, to see some of the marvelous creatures that come out after dark. As we follow our jungle trail we will be on the look out for poison dart frogs, snakes, iguanas and lizards. Mammals such as kinkajou, sloths, bequest, painted hares, coati mundi, opossum, armadillos, and eaters, wild cats, bats, owls and many interesting and unique insects.
